1st post

I was told to post something here about me. So:

I'm Clarice Ferguson. I'm 15. I'm purple. I also hate my fucking parents for dumping me here on 4 hours notice. I also hate them for making me stay in the house for nearly three months!!

For my own protection they said. Well, bah! Fuck that! Then they send me here! Which, I suppose is better, at least there seem to be grounds and whatnot. But still, online shopping is LAME.

Please tell me there is something salvagable here? swords maybe? I fence foil and sabre. A dance team (not that I expect to compete, but anyways) - SOMETHING?

also, where are my roommates? I see 2 beds and no people...

I dunno about an SNES, but there's PS2s, X-boxes, and Gamecubes floating around. At least one of each in the rec room.

Plus Dr. McCoy's got this really impressive box in the basement that I'm pretty sure can play anything you stick into it up to and including Pong on punch-cards. And there's a bunch of PC games on the school server. You're pretty much set. :)

PONG!!! *squee* I am an oldschool gamer, I don't play anything after Sega.

I say this like I'm cool or something, but in reality, the game controllers outsmart me ;)

Oh, well, we'll have to get you into Remedial Second-Generation Console Gaming 101, stat. :) We'll just skip the N64, though, that was an experiment in all-inclusive controller design gone horribly, horribly wrong, unless you have at least three hands.

Which I can do, but it's the principle of the thing.

Playstation controllers are pretty simple, though, and if you can type and use a mouse you can get the hang of most PC games. We'll have you gaming in the right century in no time.

Hey, who are you rooming with?

[identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com 2003-12-25 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
I like yahoo games. popcap is awesome.

I'm rooming with some girls named Rahne and Maire-Ange...at least I think I am. haven't met them yet.

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2003-12-25 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, cool. They're great. :) Rahne's from Scotland, and Marie-Ange is from France, and they're pretty much two of the nicest people here.

Thank you, Jamie. *smiles*

I try anyway.

Thank you.

Hey.

Do you guys still have that game with the robot and the cat-fox-.. thing? I don't know what he is?

That one was fairly easy to learn.

Ratchet and Clank? Yeah, it's . . . actually, I let Artie borrow it and he might've let 'Yana borrow it, so I'm not entirely sure where it is. Hang on.

Oh, well, of course it's in the sock drawer, how silly of me.

That reminds me, I was gonna see if Miles liked it before I tried teaching him how to play Warcraft. :) But it'd make a good "Hello, and Welcome to the Land that is Better Than 8-Bit" game for Clarice too.

... which one is Warcraft?

Re: Hey.

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2003-12-25 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
It's the one where you build armies with orcs and humans (and other guys, in Warcraft 3) and have them fight each other. The voiceovers when you click on the units are funny.

.. .Oh, okay. I think I have seen you and Doug play that one.

Too many busy little things on the screen for my tastes though.

there is nothing wrong with 8-bit, I can count that high!

Yeah, but 3D rendered is so much niftier.

Re: Hey.

[identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com 2003-12-25 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
but you must be 2% smarter than the video game you are attempting to play

But you don't have to look as good. :)

Oh, and speaking of graphics, you heard of 8-Bit Theatre (http://www.nuklearpower.com) yet? Because I think you'd get a kick out of it.
