I quit dancing when they kicked me off the dance team and started fencing.

I didn't quite quit fencing, but I don't have nearly the time I'd like to devote to it now outside of class.

I used to design clothes and quit to work in the medlab and become an EMT.

I quit being an EMT so I could be an X-Man. 'cept I'm not a trainee because I'm not 18 even though I'd doing all the reading and crazy crap they assign that is NOT actually training.

...what will I have to quit next? I want to design clothes and dance and fence and be an EMT and an X-Man. I just want to do it all.

and I can't! Jamie, wanna change powers?

Hey, when you've got some time? I need to borrow a bit of your clothing-type expertise. I'm a fair hand with a sewing machine (you kind of learn quick when you have to take one leg off all your pants) but I need some design ideas.

taking a leg off of your pants does NOT count as sewing.

and certainly. anytime. just come on over and I have a whole work table set up in our living room.

I'll have you know I designed that sound-absorbing suit for Ms. Blaire all on my own, thank you. Not to mention the mimetic polymer outfits for Rahne and Catseye. I know a thing or two. I also know when to go to the experts.

How are you with leather?

... you BETTER not be doing some dumb fool thing like being a superhero.

Oh thank god.

You don't like the reading? Man, I've been freaking fascinated.

oh I like it. I wouldn't do it otherwise.

I wish I could do everything. I really miss other stuff.

So...how much reading is there for you guys? Did you have to read Art of War? Cause seriously, coolest bit of reading Scott gave me out of that whole thing. Although the more modern tactics stuff was also cool.

And! I suggest the History channel and those battle field analysis shows they have on there. Not exactly assigned reading but totally helped me in the long run. They even draw cool arrows on things and stuff.

art of war, red badge of courage, starship troopers even.

and lots of video of stuff. and of course, upping powers training. (I can make these neato little slivers like my sword!)

I wish I knew something to tell you. I suppose I feel some of the time like I'm keeping track of a lot of different things at once... but mostly they're not the sort where I have to practise for hours and hours to keep up with them, and that's why I've not had to give them up.

Babygirl... I know. It sucks. And it's hard. And I'm in no way suggesting you become like me because I like you exactly the way you are without the mental breakdowns and the having time for goofing off, even when you don't.

I could help you plan out a schedule, though, if you'd like. Time management? I'm not in any way saying you're too slow to figure out something like this, but let's just say I have some tricks up my sleeve.

That, and writing everything down does wonders.

Let Paige help. She even helped me, and you know how anal I already am about my schedule.

yes dad.

and you are scarily anal. did you schedule valentine's day?

I actually did this year. Yay me.

it's not a lack of time per se. I have plenty of time to do home work and see my friends and do ONE, maybe two things. the thing with some of that, mostly the sewing, I have to be in the mood. It doesn't matter how much time I schedule if don't have any desire to do it. and I am working back in the medlab too.

Well, if nothing else, you can play with your pretty coloured pens :) let's give the scheduling thing a try.

I know exactly how you feel. I was looking over my own schedule the other day and having similar thoughts. Wish there was another day in the week, I might be able to fit everything in then.

Date: 2006-02-04 11:35 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com

that would help, yeah.

or y'know, having more of me.

Aye, that would be a great help too.
