why is it that everyone seems to hate Piotr and not Pete? I'm not saying people should hate Pete, but he kinda brought those baddies here 2 weeks ago and Piotr made a mistake in his past too. And no one stormed the school for it. I don't see why he is being villanized.

yeah...he was rude to Amanda, but so many people have been mean to him, he wasn't trying to be so mean to her, her comment was the straw that broke the camels back or whatever.

so, can people calm down, start apologizing and being nice again? please? I want all my friends to stop fighting.

Who says I don't hate Pete and am just subtle about it? Also, Pete had the common decency to apologize.

Go back, read what Piotr said to her, and then try and convince me he wasn't trying to be mean to her. Being stressed is no excuse. He's an X-Man, he's her art teacher, and his verbal abuse is not something I am going to tolerate from my peers. He was an insensitive pillock - I don't care how stressed he is. In case people have forgotten, everbody has been stressed. Not just Piotr. Amanda nearly ran away a few days ago because of people being utter pillocks, and I sincerely apologize if standing up for my friend when she's being verbally assaulted makes me an unfair, indecent, intolerant person.

That last was sarcastic, by the way. I know how poorly sarcasm travels via text.

Mr. Wisdom gave us more than a promise and an apology. He is working to fix it. Piotr got mad when people asked for more than a promise. Mr. Wisdom did not start a fist fight with another person here.

Mr. Wisdom did not post to his journal whining about how he is not really an X-man and not loved and not appriciated.

I expect better from my teachers. I am upset and scared because of what Mr. Wisdom did. I am angry and offended because of what Piotr did. There is a difference.

I'm not saying he was right, or that no one should defend Amanda - she is my friend too! And you're right, everyone is stressed! She almost ran away - her way of trying to deal. Piotr snapped because unlike Amanda, he wasn't able to get enough help. And he did leave. She didn't.

Everyone is wrong...and no one will be right until people start apologizing and being nice to each other. And he still lives on the student floor...so I thought he was a student. Warren is a teacher and is on the teacher floor. Yes, Piotr teaches a class, but so do you. And you're both on the student floor.

See, you think it's funny to say these things and try to make me paranoid, but you'd only run crying to the staff if I spiked your fags with DMT. After you'd stoppped trying to have sex with the interdimensional machine elves, anyway.

I repeat - why is he living on teh student floor then?

also, where has Warren been in all this? not disagreeing with you, but Warren has been unusually silent through all this...I thought they were together.

In Mr. Rasputin's defense

If he's a staff member, you students ought to be giving him the deference and respect due a staff member. Same goes for any of the staff, be it Wisdom, Miss Blaire, Miss D'Ancato, or even Summers. While that doesn't excuse him getting into a "who's really the queen bitch here?" contest with a student, it should garner him a little bit of respect.

That being said, I'll say again one of my previous statements - if you're going to make a wisecrack or admit to something that the teachers are going to get all pissed off at, at least have the brains to do it where they're not looking over your shoulder.

If we're talking about mistakes made that brought danger to the school and you students, then yeah, both Wisdom and Rasputin screwed up, and they're making good on it. If you've got a problem trusting them - they've earned that and should have to prove themselves to you.

But you don't have to make their road to do that any harder than it is. Enough of your peers have screwed up on a pretty big level, and both the faculty and student body have been MORE than accepting of their bonehead choices, and been willing to forgive. You kids want to be treated like grown-ups? Then give them the same courtesy you'd give your own peers.

I would rather ask why he is reading the student journal, myself, but Shinobi is as well, and I have no complaints with him. Although, Shinobi seems to know better than to drink and post about it publically.

I try not to make sense of relationships that I do not understand in the first place. Warren and I rarely speak, so I cannot begin to guess where he might be.

Mr. Marko? In our defense, Piotr is listed as a student and using the student journals, and on the student floor.

If he wants to be treated like someone deserving of respect, he should act the part and not start fights so close to the house that someone could get hurt.

I said he was her art teacher, not that he was a member of the faculty. There is a difference, and I'm living that life as well, with geography and history. That being said, I hold myself to a higher standard than I used to due to the responsibility Professor Xavier has entrusted me with. Perhaps that's just a quirk of mine. I like to earn what I'm given, and earn the right to keep it. Is it unfair of me to expect others to do the same? Or at least, to expect X-Men to do the same? The X-Men are supposed to protect us. Not attack us.

Am I the only one in this house who holds their would-be role models to a higher standard that gutter trash?

Valid points all, sir, and I agree with them.

While 'he's her teacher' may be the example I, at least, am using most, I'm mostly upset because this man is supposed to be an X-Man. I was under the impression that they were the best and brightest, the pinnacle of what this school can achieve. I hesitate to use the word 'heroes', but there you are, I used it anyway.

Re:

okay. so he's a teaching student. which is a pretty big gray area, I think. I also think that those who are supposed to be helping the students ie the teachers missed something. you both are Teaching STUDENTS - so where does one begin and the other end? I'm confused by this, if they are students, why aren't the teachers helping them like they help us? and who helps the teachers?

and Piotr didn't attack anybody. the way I understood the fight between him and Mr. Marko was that they agreed to fight and did so (the public part of the fight I question, but I don't have any better ideas on that).

I do hold my role models to a higher standard than gutter trash. And Piotr is not gutter-trash.

I didn't know the XMen had a code of conduct?

besides, when they go out and 'defend humanity' they cause more people to hate us at the same time!

Re: ...

Yeah, that's kind of confusing me as well. When I went to school, you didn't pal around with your teachers or call them by their first name or anything like that. There was a definite line of authority there, and everyone knew where it was.

Things are different here, it seems. And that might be the problem. With the exception of some smartasses who think they know better than everyone else, no one gives Miss Munroe or Summers crap about how they do things. But because Rasputin was one of you guys just a while ago, you still treat him like a peer instead of an authority figure.

It's my understanding that's why the staff and students are separated on different floors in the dorm. Now, I ain't saying you can't be friends with the teachers - that's apparently standard operating procedure here. But you've got to have that different level of respect than you have for your peers, you know? Respect their authority.

Granted - I'll agree that Rasputin overstepped his bounds, and owes whatsername, the giddy chick an apology. But it's not any of you students' place to take him to task for it. You can like or dislike him all you want, but it's not your place to try and hand down discipline.

Attacks do not have to be physical in order to be wrong.

The teachers do help us. I could start naming people who have helped me since I accepted this responsibility, if you like, but it would be a very long list and I don't want to bore you. Piotr, as you have pointed out yourself, is dating a teacher. I refuse to believe that he was not recieving help, and if he wasn't, that he was not fully capable of asking for it.

How about this, since you seem to keep missing my point - okay. Let's operate under the assumption that he is a student. No more, no less.

He's an X-MAN. He needs to start ACTING LIKE IT.

Heroes? Feh. More like leather-wrapped wannabe tough guys playing a game of soldiers that's going to get them all killed one day. If that's what some of you kids are aspiring to be, I hope someone's at least offering an alternative career path.

Hell, they let that short little psychopath with the bad haircut call himself an X-Man. If that don't tell you something about admission standards, I don't know what will. Apparently having a life-or-death knife fight with another teacher in front of the students isn't as bad as calling one of the kids a tramp.

This is part of why I am so confused.

Piotr teaches art. But he lives on the student floor. is he a teacher or student!? We've been friends and he has never said "you must call me Mr. Rasputin" or anything. We're going to a concert next month (I think. I hope) and we hang out and all that. I thought he was a student. Then classes started and he was teaching art...and is he magically a teacher now or what?

I know he is my friend regardless.

Re:

so Mr. Logan beating up Ms. Braddock is okay?
or Mr. Summers never being here is okay?

and obviously, Mr. Marko could hold his own against Piotr, which I doubt many could do. Their fight may have been a SAFER alternative.

so destroying millions of dollars of public property and making humans hate us more is okay as long as they stop Magnet-head or whatever? Surprise, I pay more attention than you might think.

Re: ...

If you ask me, art ain't really a class, so calling him a "teacher" is a bit much. Nevertheless, he's an adult in the mansion, and ought to both act like one and be treated like one. If you're going to treat him all buddy-buddy like you do your roommates and friends, then you shouldn't hold him to a higher standard is all I'm saying.

In my defense, I'd have been up in arms over the 'knife fight' as well, if I had seen it. I know for a fact I'm not very comfortable around one of the parties involved anymore, for associated reasons.

This situation in particular does, however, hit a bit closer to home for me. Quite a bit closer. I dealt with verbal abuse at home and had noone to stand up for me, so.. I'm standing up for her.

We're human too, Shinobi. We fuck up and we get hurt, we get our feelings hurt. Sometimes we act in ways we're not proud of. Piotr's been a damn good team member. Him having a hard time doesn't negate that. I hope he comes back so this can get cleared up.

Being on the team was never about best-and-brightest for me anyway. It was more about what I have, or don't have, to lose, and what I'm doing with what's left.
