Kinda reminds me of someone I met 10 years ago.

Wonder who that could be.

This is what I get for being arms deep in medical stuff while people lose their minds on the journal system. I'm only a few comments in and someone already used flatscan.

The sheer idiocy of that name is staggering. Especially considering the genetic testing for mutation has nothing to do with scanning.

you're a cruel, horrible person.

and you better be referring to someone who DIDN'T hide under the bed at the first sign of trouble.

You were here for months before I got here. Can't speak to that.

all work and no play makes Laurie BORING

good save. now I don't have to glitter you

True. I have finished for the day - and my physiotherapist is talking about surgery to properly attach the arm Emma's people have been designing for me, so there's that to celebrate.

Pizza and beer?

Of all the things to focus on...

(Not that it doesn't bother me. Like, hello?)

You're not old enough to sound this condescending.

PARTY!!!!

can I bedazzle one of your new arms?

awww, Wade, you're cute.

but you're still wrong.

Date: 2015-07-07 12:58 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-wallflower-.livejournal.com
I try to focus on the things with a possibility of change. There's a little too much everything else in all that exchange for any real listening to be done.

You should come have pizza and beer with us.

I only have the prototype tester arm right now - real one is going to have a lot more functionality once they get the neural interface working. But sure, knock yourself out.

the benefits of detachable bodyparts - you can match to your needs/outfits!

Yeah...I'm more than a little glad I'm missing all the fun. I've been at Muir since Friday on business.

buzzkill.

Date: 2015-07-07 02:18 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-jeangrey.livejournal.com
Meh. No kidding. While I get to see Moira, the amount of paperwork I need to get taken care of in person makes me want to bathe myself in Jim Beam. There's enough red tape to strangle a giraffe.

Date: 2015-07-07 02:19 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com
you can fix all that with a lighter

Date: 2015-07-07 02:25 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-jeangrey.livejournal.com
Hmmm, tempting but then I'd have a shrieking Scotswoman on my hands cursing at me in Gaelic and that's NOT pretty.

Date: 2015-07-07 02:28 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com
there are always consequences

Stupid consequences.

when forced to adult, play silly music

Date: 2015-07-07 02:39 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-jeangrey.livejournal.com
Can I play angsty rock and tell people to leave me alone cause no one understands me cause they're not my real dad?

Date: 2015-07-07 02:39 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com
you COULD, but you would also look ridiculous since you're not wearing black lipstick and an ankh

Date: 2015-07-07 02:46 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-jeangrey.livejournal.com
No but I have black rimmed glasses and a couple of flannel shirts that I can layer over ironic t-shirts and go hipster.

Date: 2015-07-07 02:46 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com
you're too old to be a hipster

Date: 2015-07-07 02:49 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-jeangrey.livejournal.com
Psh. I'm a Millennial. We pioneered hipsters.

Now get off my lawn, y'damn kid.

Date: 2015-07-07 02:50 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com
aren't you older than me?

Date: 2015-07-07 02:53 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-jeangrey.livejournal.com
Yep. Still a millennial, though. That generation started in the early 80s.

Date: 2015-07-07 02:55 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com
....wouldn't that make you GenX or GenY?

Date: 2015-07-07 12:39 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-jeangrey.livejournal.com
Depends on who you ask. I've seen the cut off date for Gen-X as 1980, 1982, or 1984, though generally 1980.

Gen-Y or Millennials (the terms are often used interchangeably though according to the Atlantic Gen-Y is 'Made up') tend to start around 1980 or 1982 and run until 2004.

I reject your definitions and substitute my own

Date: 2015-07-07 10:22 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] x-blink.livejournal.com
okay, all respect to Bill Nye, that's not science. That's an arbitrary definition that varies by whomever wants to set it for their own purposes. You cannot site THE MEDIA as a fact.
