Depends on who you ask. I've seen the cut off date for Gen-X as 1980, 1982, or 1984, though generally 1980.
Gen-Y or Millennials (the terms are often used interchangeably though according to the Atlantic Gen-Y is 'Made up') tend to start around 1980 or 1982 and run until 2004.
okay, all respect to Bill Nye, that's not science. That's an arbitrary definition that varies by whomever wants to set it for their own purposes. You cannot site THE MEDIA as a fact.
